Five No Strings Attached Mother’s Day Gifts

My family treats me well, but on Mother’s Day, I become almost like royalty. My husband and kiddo pull out all the stops and never cease to surprise and shower me with PERFECT gifts every year.

My husband is the king of buying the best gift and giving it in the best way. Last year, for example, I happened to mention that I needed a great camera for the blog (which I had just started a month prior). With only a few days before Mother’s Day, he orchestrated an elaborate plan centered around getting me a nice beginner camera I could handle without being overwhelmed.

After reading a million reviews and visiting several stores he settled on the Nikon Coolpix B500, which I love. It’s easy to use and takes great pictures. (It’s supposed to send the images directly to my phone when I snap a photo. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t work so well, but it’s still a great point and shoot camera)

In any event, after deciding on the camera, he couldn’t find it in purple in the store (he knew I’d go gaga over that plum color). He ordered it on Friday and it arrived on Sunday morning. Just in time for him to wrap up in a giant box, ring the doorbell and leave it on the doorstep like this….

That’s the actual wrapping. He’s great at it isn’t he? This giant box had three other wrapped boxes inside leading to the camera. So much fun to open and got all the squeals out of me when I finally lifted the camera from the mass of cardboard and wrapping paper.

Surprise Sunday Delivery

But did you catch that Sunday Delivery? Yes, girl. With Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial""“>Prime but quickly realized that it pays for itself with how often we use it. Especially since Amazon now offers thousands of items I can get SAME DAY delivered for free. Umm, hello Mr. Postman.

And the fact that the membership covers the household is a major bonus. So, both my husband and I can order products from our own email address accounts.  Before we knew we could do that, I would send him links to items I wanted to buy. And well, he didn’t particularly care for that.

You could also say Amazon Prime spoils you a bit because it includes Prime Video, which streams movies from your internet to your TV or mobile devices. This household champions racing to Redbox at 8:50 pm.

Mother's Day Gifts to try for free

Mother’s Day Gifts You Can Try for FREE

The great thing about it is that you can try ALL Amazon services absolutely free. If you (or your mom) don’t like the subscription or don’t use it enough to warrant paying for it, just cancel. I typically set a calendar reminder a few days prior to my cancellation deadline.

So what’s on the list of services to try for free?

Prime Student 6-month Trial""“>student or on a Try AmazonFresh Free Trial""“>Amazon Fresh. Ok, I’ve tried out the Walmart Grocery Pick up Service where you order online and you go to the store to pick up your grocery. Let me tell you, not having to get out of the car, shop and fight the checkout lines was LIFE. LOVED it. Grocery pick up is free, but delivery is $10 per order. When you shop weekly–that’s $40 extra dollars a month. No can do!

Audible. One of my bosses hipped me to audiobooks back in 2003 when audiobooks came on CDs. I was hooked immediately. When you match a talented reader with a page-turner you have a ticket to anywhere in the world at any time. There are times when I would sit in my car wrapped up in a tale. Well with audible, at least you can get out of the car because your subscription gives you unlimited access to the vast library streamed right to your phone. Get two free books with your 30-day free trial.

Amazon.com – Read eBooks using the FREE Kindle Reading App on Most Devices""“>Kindle Reading App. If listening to books isn’t your jam, then you can stick with reading, and download your books on the FREE Kindle Reading App. If a book is out there, nine times out of ten you can find it on Kindle. I own an iPad but tend to purchase my books through the Kindle app because I want the flexibility of taking my books with me should I choose to switch from Apple products down the road. The Kindle app can be used on any device. There are no fees associated with downloading or keeping the app. You only pay for books you decide to purchase. And there are actually quite a few free books available.

Instant Pot, which is available with 1-day shipping. I’ve also scoped out this cookbook, which I will gladly download on my Kindle app. And of course, I’ll need some groceries to cook in that pressure cooker while I watch some streaming movies. I’ve got it all planned out.

I’d probably opt for Amazon and use it to get household items and decor for my new apartment.

That’s a nice gift & very thoughtful!… I love the amazon fresh idea. Since my mom won’t appreciate any of these I’m tagging Justin ?. I see a couple of things I wouldn’t mind.
