Man, I always try to plan out Christmas early. Most of my family has expensive taste. And sadly, most won’t give had items on their list that are small or medium prices. Good thing I only have 10 to buy for each year.

We set a budget for Christmas and stick to it, every year we are more intentional with our gift giving in that we really think about what our daughters need and would truly value rather than purchasing a bunch of ‘stuff.’ My husband and I are giving each other the gift of a tropical vacation this year, the gift of memories, instead of things we don’t really need. Still, it can be difficult to not overspend when I am decorating, I love and I am so passionate about decorating, so I have to set a budget for what I can add to my decor each year and I must donate the items I am not going to use. Having a budget ahead and starting early, and keeping a list of what I buy all help me stay on track. Christmas is about family and friends, getting together and having fun playing board games, watching movies, ice skating, snowshoeing, etc. memories. ‘Jesus is the reason for the season.’
